QMS/Chefs@School

Quality Meat Scotland (QMS) Education Sessions and Cookery Demonstrations

QMS  works with a wide range of organisations in promoting Food Education within Scottish Schools. We all understand the importance of a healthy balanced diet and why Scottish schools have such a key role to play. As a food education partner areas such as healthy eating, food and farming, hospitality and other areas of the curriculum are discussed during the demonstrations. Home economics departments of secondary schools in Scotland can be supplied with a voucher worth up to £100. This is to spend on fresh red meat from their local butcher and for use by students on home economics and hospitality courses. Just let me know if this is of interest to you.

Chefs@School is a project funded by the Scottish Government and administered by the Federation of Chefs Scotland. It’s aim is to encourage culinary and food industry professionals to work with teachers and children across Scotland to bring food education to life.

As a Chefs@School chef, and as a member of the Federation of Chefs, Lesley is one of the newest chefs@school and is currently involved with Dyce and Kintore Primary schools in projects involving growing food and learning about food nutrition.
